On Sunday mornings from the 1940s through the 1970s, Kingstonians from diverse communities converged at Reher’s Bakery to pick up rolls for breakfast on their way home from church. You can learn more about those Sundays at the Bakery here.
On Sunday morning, March 14th, Kingston neighbors will once again drop by Reher’s Bakery to gather fresh rolls for the family. Then, we’ll gather together from near and far to log on for a 3 PM Zoom program featuring a taste-test panel of former bakery customers, our local baker and a Culinary Institute of America bread expert. They will share what made Reher’s rolls so special and their reminiscing will assist us in recreating the lost recipe for future Reher Center tours and programs.
Reminder: All NYS and County Gathering Guidelines will be followed for your safety.
For the $25 ticket fee, you will receive a bag of six assorted rolls donated by the bakeries below. Ticket proceeds support both the Reher Center’s Grow our Gallery, Build our Bathroom campaign and the work of People’s Place to fight food insecurity in our community today.
Fresh rolls and butter for this event are donated by our bakery and restaurant sponsors including: Adam’s Fairacre Farms, Boice Bros. Dairy, Bread Alone, Bread by Ellen, Cake Box Bakery, Graziano’s Downtown Cafe, Half Moon Rondout Cafe, Meredith’s Breads (Gluten free options,) and The Bakery New Paltz.
