 etitive\, tournament chess in a laid-back relaxed environment. Join us fo
 r an introductory chess tournament designed to help players experience org
 anized competition\, learn tournament procedures\, and enjoy the challenge
  of playing other chess enthusiasts. This event will be proctored and orga
 nized by Donald Odom\, lifetime member of the US Chess Federation and ches
 s instructor and enthusiast.\n\nWhat to Expect\n\n● A welcoming atmosphe
 re: An introduction to tournament play without unnecessary pressure.\n\n
 ● Organized competition: Play a series of games against other participan
 ts.\n\n● Recognition and awards: Special recognition for top-performing 
 players overall and top scholastic players.\n\n● A learning experience: 
 Become familiar with tournament etiquette\, chess clocks\, pairings\, and 
 game results.\n\n● An opportunity to improve: Gain experience and confid
 ence for future tournaments.\n\nWe aim to play 5 rounds\, but tournament p
