Support Groups are a resource for family members and friends who have a loved one living with severe and persistent mental illness. These groups meet on a drop-in basis to provide mutual support by trained facilitators who are family members themselves. There is no need to register for these free groups. They provide opportunities for family members and friends of people living with mental illness to explore ideas and solutions to the problems they experience in dealing with a brain disorder. We receive support, guidance, and encouragement from people with similar experiences.
NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.
