Join us for a guided medicinal and edible mushroom foraging walk amidst all the beauty of Fall in New York’s Hudson Valley. You will learn about the “choice” edible and medicinal fungi our region has to offer and the healing benefits they provide. Learn how we are all connected by the miraculous mycelium network made by our fungi friends and how to better appreciate the beautiful things we see in nature.
We will be outside all day, so check the weather for Accord, NY, and dress appropriately and comfortably. A few items to be sure to bring are:
– water
– basket or bag
– journal and pen
– comfortable shoes
– any personal comforts you may need to be outside for a couple of hours in the forest
There will be an opportunity for Q&A, so bring any questions that you may want answered.
The walk will be led by Meghan Hetfield and Claire Bourgeois.
Meghan is a Nationally Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist working in the addiction/harm reduction field. Meghan has found fungi and plant medicines to be an integral part of her mental health and wellness journey. She is a passionate advocate for people finding their own unique pathway to wellness and loves supporting people to find what that pathway looks like for them.
Claire Bourgeois is currently pursuing her licensure as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor at New York University (NYU).
