SUMMARY:Mixed Media Basics
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\nDive beyond flat painting and learn how to build prof
 essional\, three dimensional surfaces! In this 5-week series\, students ag
 es 9 and up will work simultaneously on two distinct canvases to explore t
 he exciting worlds of mixed media and heavy textures. Rather than rushing 
 to finish a piece each day\, artists will learn the studio process of buil
 ding artwork in layers over time. In addition to paints and markers\, we w
 ill use molding pastes to carve deep\, tactile ridges\, and gloss gel medi
 ums to layer papers and other objects into the canvas. Emphasizing persona
 l artistic expression and hands-on material exploration\, this course give
 s older youth the space to confidently create complex\, gallery-worthy mas
 terpieces.\n\nExperience Level: beginnerAges: 9 and up. Tweens\, teens\, a

 ion. Her approach to youth programming is rooted in her early days as a ca
 mp counselor\, prioritizing an inclusive\, supportive studio enviornment w
 here every student feels seen\, safe\, and capable of confident self-expre
