SUMMARY:“Meet the Artist" with Genesis Báez
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, May 7\, we welcome Genesis Báez to “Meet the A
 rtist” night at CPW. Báez will present her recent monograph Blue Sun as
  well as new works.\n\nJoin us on select Thursday evenings at CPW\, when w
 e host illuminating talks with local and visiting artists. “Meet the Art
 ist” allows the public to get to know new work\, to hear about artistic 
 processes\, and to meet friends and other local artists. The evening takes
  place at CPW’s gallery at 25 Dederick Street in Kingston\, NY. It is fr
 ee and open to the public. Coffee\, tea\, and snacks are served. Genesis B
 áez is an artist working with photography. In 2025 she published her firs
 t monograph Blue Sun (Capricious Publishing)\, weaving a decade of photogr
 aphs made in Puerto Rico and its diaspora. Baez has exhibited internationa
 lly including the Whitney Museum\, Princeton University Art Museum\, and K
 ilometro in San Juan\, PR. Her works are held in the permanent collections
  of the Museum of Modern Art\, the Whitney Museum of American Art\, the Ya
 le University Art Museum\, and the Detroit Institute of Art. Baez holds an
  MFA from the Yale School of Art and a BFA from MassArt. She is a 2025 Ans
 chutz Distinguished Fellow at Princeton University\, and is currently an A
 ssistant Professor of Art at Amherst College.
