SUMMARY:Lens &amp\; Learn Documentary Screening: Native American Heritage M
 onth
DESCRIPTION:Scenes from the Glittering World\n\nThree Indigenous youth come
of age on the fringes of the Navajo Nation. A meditation on adolescence\,
trauma and the power of connecting with a homeland.\n\nFilmed at the most
remote high school in the continental United States\, at the farthest edg
e of the Navajo Nation\, this film shares the stories of Indigenous youth
as they grapple with ambitious dreams\, their family responsibilities\, an
d the isolated nature of their community — all while the school itself f
aces existential questions about its purpose and future.\n\nGlittering Wor
ld (also known as the Fourth World or Nihalgai) is the present world in th
e creation story of the Diné.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nPlease note: Due to the film
’s length\, the screening will begin promptly at 6pm. Many documentaries
are unrated and may not be suitable for teens. No registration needed\, j
oin us in the Meeting Room.\n\nLens &amp\; Learn meets every other month f
or a scintillating documentary. The next screening will be in January.
