CELEBRATING BLACK HISTORY MONTH:
SUSTAINING CREATIVE PRESENCE
February 4th – February 26th

ASK honors the legacy of Black History Month with the exhibition Celebrating Black History: Sustaining Creative Presence featuring the artwork of 6 artists from Kingston and Saugerties.

On view are photographs, paintings, and drawings created by Ted Dixon, Sikena Khadija, Carmen Lizardo, Julio Nazario, Debra Priestly and Pablo Shine. They are local artists working in a broad range of creative styles that represent the diverse diaspora of the Black community. The work sheds light on personal history, memories, abstract ideas and experiences that have shaped, challenged and ultimately strengthened all communities.

The exhibition is curated by photographer, Sikena Khadija with support from the ASK Board and consulting advice from Daniel Venture, photographer and board member of ASK. We thank all ASK members for their ongoing support of ASK programs.
Until February 26.
