Kingston Snowflake Festival
The enchanting Snowflake Festival returns to uptown Kingston on Friday, December 1st, marking the commencement of the festive holiday season. Generously sponsored by numerous local businesses, this cherished free community event is set to captivate attendees of all ages.
This year promises a dazzling array of holiday-themed performances, exhibitions, entertainment and open stores offering holiday treats and hot beverages to visitors. The Snowflake Festival will run from 6pm thru 8pm with a wide array of holiday themed attractions throughout Uptown’s Historic Stockade District. Every child will receive a sparkling red light wand to usher in Santa and Mrs. Claus as they arrive on an antique fire truck draped in holiday decor to light Kingston’s holiday tree at the intersection of Wall and North Front Streets. Santa will then settle-in at the barn on the Senate House grounds to meet with children of all ages.
Explore Uptown’s charming historic streets as they sparkle with lit snowflakes and are filled with live entertainers including Victorian carolers, dancers, horse-drawn carriage rides, a fire torch juggler, ice sculpture carvings and much more.
Exciting new additions include an aerialist who will be performing over North Front Street and four fairy tail princesses; The Miracle Daughter, The Enchanted Rose Princess, The Mermaid Princess and The Hero of China. The NYPhotoBus will be decked out for the holidays and parked on Wall Street to capture your memories.
The main stage will be rocking holiday performances from several local youth organizations and a surprise act will have the crowd dancing in the streets to close out the show. The most cherished moments will be broadcasted from the grounds of the Peace Park (corner of North Front and Crown Streets) when KUBA presents dozens of bikes to the winners of the Snowflake Festival Bike Raffle. Each winner will receive a shiny new bike, safety helmet and secure lock.
Free parking is available at municipal lots at North Front Street, Fair Street Extension, County Court House, and Kingston Plaza.
