DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nInvading Spaces opens June 19\, 5–7pm. A DARNstudio qui
 lt cycle exploring who defines space and at what cost.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n(Creat
 ive Legion) presents Invading Spaces\, an exhibition by DARNstudio work
 ing in the vocabulary of souvenir matchbooks and felt to explore questions
  of signifiers and boundaries. How is space defined\, and by whom? When do
 es presence become intrusion?\n\nAt a distance\, the works' patterns read 
 as nostalgic and familiar. Up close\, the pixels—each one a matchbook—
 reveal the names and faces of those unjustly killed by law enforcement. Th
 e intimacy of the material collides with the weight of the subject\, askin
 g viewers to consider how space\, power\, and belonging are constructed\, 
 controlled\, and communicated.\n\nInvading Spaces opens on Juneteenth\, b
 ringing this work into conversation with the broader regional celebration 
 of contemporary art during Upstate Art Weekend and the 4th of July Holiday
 . The exhibition is curated by Tara Foley.\n\nAttendance is free. RSVP is
  required.\n\nWorks will be available for acquisition.\n\n\n
