DESCRIPTION:What was life like for the people of Clermont at the dawn of th
 e Revolutionary War? See reenactors portray the daily life of these coloni
 sts through live demonstrations. Take an open house tour of the historic m
 ansion and learn about the whole history of Clermont from one of our exper
 ienced guides. Protect the Declartion of Independence from the Red Coats w
 ith a spy code. Make a historic craft or try out a colonial game. Enjoy de
 licous hot food and cold drinks from At First Bite food truck and ice crea
 m from Mr. Ding-a-Ling. Learn more about local history with the Germantown
  History Department and learn about local geology with Robert Titus. Liste
 n to the traditional music of Tamarack and try your hand at Barn Dancing. 
 Be entertained by the early American songs and stories of Thomas Hooker Ha
 nford. Hear readings of Frederick Douglass’ famous speech “What to the
  Slave is the Fourth of July?” and Elizabeth Cady Stanton's "Declaration
  of Sentiments." The day will end with a reading of the Declaration of Ind
 ependence.\nPlease note: The cost of this event is $15 per vehicle. Cash o
 nly.The event ends at 5:00pm. The park closes at sunset.
