A cocktail-style party to honor four women who make Kingston history: Vera Van Dyke, a Civil Rights Activist and the wife of Kingston’s first black Alderman, Leonard, will be honored by her daughter, Renee, who has traced the family’s roots to two Civil War veterans buried at Mount Zion Cemetery; Irene Lawson, Kingston’s first African-American nurse at Kingston Hospital; Sally Bermanzohn, author, Civil Rights activist, and Greensboro Massacre survivor; and venue host Andrea Shaut, the City of Kingston’s first female President of the Common Council. With a short film by Ethan Scott Barnett.

Suggested donation of $50 per person (all proceeds go towards party expenses), includes cocktail party catering by Linda Laestadius of Grounded as well as various beverages. Music by party co-host, Harambee.
