DESCRIPTION:Henry Fraser - upright bass\, presenting work from his acclaime
 d new album on Charmaine Lee's Kou Records\n\nAxine M Solid Trio - vocal t

do) - vocals and electronics presenting work from her new album on Leaving
Records\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nHENRY FRASER\nBorn in Boston in 1991\, double bassi
st and composer Henry Fraser moved to New York City in 2014 and has since
developed a wide-ranging practice rooted in improvisation and collaboratio
 n. He has worked with artists including Ka Baird\, John Zorn\, Uniform\, M
ary Halvorson\, Randall Dunn\, and Joey Arias\, and has performed internat
ionally at venues and festivals such as Unsound Festival\, The National Co
ncert Hall of Ireland\, Carnegie Hall\, and Lincoln Center.\n\nFraser’s
work often begins with raw sonic materials that evolve through collaborati
on and engagement with a wide spectrum of musical forms—frequently commu
nal\, ceremonial\, psychedelic\, or devotional in character. His approach
treats improvisation as a flexible framework through which these forms can
be explored\, placing emphasis on the personal histories and relationship
s that shape the music.\nSince 2019\, Fraser has focused intensively on so
lo music for the double bass\, developing a distinctive practice centered
on resonance\, physical gesture\, and extended acoustic inquiry. Across a
series of recordings and performances\, he has emerged as a compelling voi
ce among a new generation of bassists expanding the instrument’s solo po
ssibilities. His latest solo album\, Pneuma\, was released by Kou Records
in June 2026.\nFraser has been selected as a fellow for the Art OMI Music
 Residency (2021)\, was named a NYSCA/NYFA Finalist in Music/Sound (2022)\,
has held residencies at Pioneer Works and The Stone (both 2025)\, and his
work has been featured in Rolling Stone and The Wire. In 2023 he joined C
arnegie Hall’s Future Music Project as a Teaching Artist\, leading music
workshops with incarcerated youth in New York City.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nAXINE M
\nMaxine de las Pozas is Axine M. Maxine composes and performs with voice\
, guitar\, and laptop. In 2025 she released an experimental techno EP on a
nno records called Bored Giant Engine Sputter. Lately\, she directs Solid
Choir\, performing three-part arrangements of original songs\, and is the
resident DJ of Amelia Heintzelman’s Continuousness dance class.\n\nThe A
ncient Greek term Axenos\, or "inhospitable place\," refers to the Black S
ea before nautical technology had advanced enough to safely traverse it. A
xine is a vessel for musical inquiries and creative impulses spanning mult
iple genres and sentiments\, carving out a space for herself against the g
rain of the dystopian imaginary.\n\nAxine M was a 2024 Issue Project Room
Artist in Residence.\n\nAxine M will perform with Solid Choir members Leni
Kreinberg and Christina Lan.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nIIISA\nMerging field recording
s\, poemsongs\, and familial voices from their home in Costa Rica\, iiisa
builds memory portals for the kindling of transformation. Their “pliab
le and fearless voice” (I Care If You Listen) emerges from beds of disto
rtion and abstracted environments\, deftly guiding the listener through ep
hemeral vignettes. Following performances at Big Ears Festival\, Pioneer W
orks\, and Roulette\, their debut album will be released by Leaving Record
 s on October 2\, 2026. More at isabelcrespo.com/iiisa
