 reading and gallery tour on Saturday\, August 22\, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
  at The Lace Mill(165 Cornell Street\, Kingston).\nThe special event is 
 part of her immersive visual memoir exhibition\, CandyLand\, which transf
 orms complex childhood trauma into a vibrant space for resilience and coll
 ective healing. Lane\, a former writer for The New York Times who has de
 ep roots in the regional media landscape\, will read select passages from 
 her upcoming memoir. Following the reading\, she will guide neighbors thro
 ugh a short tour of the gallery\, showcasing neon artwork\, personal artif
 acts\, and interactive installations.\nRaised in the 1960s counterculture\
 , Lane’s work reflects her journey from an emancipated minor to a celebr
 ated storyteller. This hometown event highlights her deep ties to Ulster C
 ounty and the regional press\, inviting the community to connect through s
 hared narratives. Visitors can also participate by adding personal healing
