Penny Brodie has been performing jazz poetry live with CAPS for a few years. She is the host of, “Mingus Moments,” on the Vassar College radio station, WVKR 91.3FM. Penny discovered jazz poetry in the early 80’s when she saw Oliver Lake in a solo performance at the Albany Public Library.
Greg Correll was a CUNY Writing Fellow in 2018. He edits memoirs and fiction, and wrote about his Parkinson’s diagnosis for Salon, and about sexual assaults in jail at 14 for The Good Men Project. He’s published in a half-dozen anthologies. Despite movement disorders he has won TMIdol slam competitions and has read as featured writer and poet throughout the Hudson Valley, Manhattan and New Orleans. He won a CLIO for package design, illustrated regularly for The New Yorker, and engineered the Yale Climate Institute’s scientific collaboration system and site. He is the driving force behind the CAPS website the growing CAPS Press.
Jim Eve is the founder of Calling All Poets, Inc. which in March 2021, will be in its 22 year. CAPS was based at the Roost Gallery and Studio in New Paltz, New York, but now thrives in the virtual world thanks to ZOOM. He has been a facilitator of poetry for over thirty years. He tinkers with words, writing scattered thoughts some call poetry.
Addison Goodson, born in New York City, organized progressive voters in Venice, California, fought against Apartheid at UCLA, flew all over this world, lives to work with my sisters and brothers to preserve life, peace and justice on this lovely planet EARTH.
Mike Jurkovic poetry and musical criticism have appeared in over 500 magazines and periodicals worldwide with little reportable income. Recent full length collections: AmericanMental, (Luchador Press 2020) Blue Fan Whirring (Nirala Press, 2018) President, Calling All Poets. Reviews appear online at All About Jazz and Lightwood. He hopes to soon return to hosting his Tuesday Night Jazz Sanctuary program from 7-10PM on WOOC 103.5 in Troy, NY.

The JazzOetry Quartet
Robert Kopec (acoustic/electric bassist) is the go-to bassist of the Hudson Valley Jazz scene as well as a at rreelance musician and teacher. Robert, along with Eric and Joe, have been the core of the JazzOetry Quartet since its inception in 2017.
Eric Person (saxophones, flutes) is living and loving life to the fullest extent of his being, Eric’s playing crosses all generations and genres of the Jazz spectrum with soulful, searching sound that lingers in the consciousness long after the gig is over.
Joe Vincent Tranchina
Joe Vincent Tranchina (keyboards) is a multi-award-winning jazz pianist/composer/arranger and a multifaceted recording artist. He has performed in many jazz, club and concert venues throughout NYC, the greater surrounding area, the USA, and in international jazz, club and concert venues as well.
