DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening of authentic Brazilian music on our outd
 oor main stage!\nLed by Felipe Hostins and Gil Oliveira\, Massaranduba pre
 sents a Brazilian style of music called Forró\, from the northeast of Bra
 zil\, and explores the crossroads between other Brazilian universes. From 
 Santa Catarina\, Felipe Hostins first learned rhythms typical in southern 
 Brazil\; such as sertanejo de raiz\, chamamé\, and others from the gaucho
  tradition. He has been thrilling audiences for over a decade and is known
  for his stellar musicianship as well as having “an entire orchestra in 
 his accordion.”Gil Oliveira grew up surrounded by Samba in his hometown\
 , Rio de Janeiro\; and has also partaken in the Brazilian Carnival in Salv
 ador\, Bahia for more than a decade. As a drummer/percussionist\, Gil Oliv
 eira is a familiar face in the Brazilian music scene and has played profes
 sionally since a teenager\, and to date takes credit performing with Gilbe
 rto Gil\, Caetano Veloso\, Novos Baianos and Bebel Gilberto.Hostins and Ol
 iveira have been playing together for many years. Their collaboration span
 s performances in the vibrant Brazilian Music scene of NYC\, musical recor
 dings-including Cyro Baptista`s new album CHAMA\; recorded with the Italia
 n icon Jovanotti\, to sharing the stage with great artists such as Paquito
  D`Rivera\, among others.Massaranduba will be joined by Junior Karegato on
  Percussion\, Rachel Pereira on Triangle and some special guests.Forró is
  social dance music created at the turn of the 19th century from the meldi
 ng of Portuguese button-accordion tunes and African rhythms. In the cowboy
  culture of the rocky\, arid Brazilian sertão\, the word “forró” bec
 ame a catchall phrase for the music\, the dance style that accompanies it\
 , and the event where it is played. These can last all night long\, with c
 ouples young and old dancing close\, legs locked\, rocking to the infectio
 us rhythms of the sanfona (accordion)\, the zabumba (bass drum) and the tr
