All around the country, books for teens are being banned for all sorts of reasons. Libraries know that book banning is a form of censorship. We invite everyone to make choices for themselves, but not for others.
Every other week this summer we’ll be reading a different graphic novel that has been banned and discuss each other’s opinions about the book.
June 27 – This One Summer by Mariko Tamaki
July 11 – Drama by Raina Telgemeier
July 25 – SideScrollers by Matthew Loux
August 8 – Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi
August 22 – Maus by Art Spiegelman
Participants will make their own banned books button and get a FREE copy of each book to keep!
(Sign-up on to get your first book. At each meeting, participants will receive the next book)
Middle School & High School ages.
