WHERE WINDS MAY BLOW | Featuring artists: Susan Mastrangelo, Garry Nichols and Kevin Paulsen
Almost from its beginning, The Lockwood Gallery was recognized for presenting shows built upon the pillars of a strong narrative. WHERE WINDS MAY BLOW endeavors to take this concept to an entirely new level. This exhibition was conceived to represent a rare and extraordinary adventure taken on a grand sailing ship – In this instance, The Francis Drake. The Francis Drake is introduced in The Front Gallery in the form of a magnificent, seven-and-a-half-foot, functional weathervane created by Garry Nichols. It’s from the Francis Drake that we ask you to imagine setting sail… Where Winds May Blow.
As you walk “the decks” of the gallery, we believe your imagination will sail and you will soon realize that you are indeed on a wondrous journey, exploring wildly diverse expressions and approaches to landscape, figurative and wildlife painting… All imagined and brought to life by artists Garry Nichols, Kevin Paulsen and Susan Mastrangelo. All advancing the intended concept and narrative of the show.
Where Winds May Blow is curated by Alan Goolman
