SUMMARY:ADULT. &amp\; A Place To Bury Strangers LIVE at Assembly - Kingston
 \, NY
DESCRIPTION:https://www.tixr.com/groups/assembly/events/adult-a-place-to-bu
ry-strangers-190889\n\nADULT.\nWith over 23 years working and a sprawling
discography to show for that labor\, Adam Lee Miller and Nicola Kuperus ha
ve spent their entire career as ADULT. obscuring any defined genre or styl
e\, writing and recording albums as art for life’s sake. On their latest
album\, the group are back at it with some discordant\, doom dance sludge
to mark their 9th studio album Becoming Undone.  Written between Novembe
r 2020 and April 2021\, the album might be the bands most non-conformant y
et. Sure there’s plenty of dance bangers\, but ultimately the album is r
iddled with impermanence\, loss and looping dissatisfactions.\n\nA PLACE T
O BURY STRANGERS\nFans around the world know Oliver Ackermann always bring
s surprises. For nearly two decades\, the singer and guitarist of New York
City’s A Place To Bury Strangers has fused post-punk\, noise-rock\, sho
egaze\, psychedelia\, and avant-garde experimentation into music that feel
s volatile and alive. As the founder of Death By Audio\, he’s extended t
hat same spirit through his signal-scrambling effects\, empowering artists
everywhere to push sound past its limits. Onstage\, A Place To Bury Stran
 gers delivers a shamanistic experience—immersive\, feral\,\nand electrif
 ying—where real-time experiments and sudden breakthroughs collide.\n\nWh
ile many of his peers have slowed down\, Ackermann’s momentum continues
to build. In 2021 he launched Dedstrange\, a label devoted to advancing bo
undary-breaking artists worldwide\, and refreshed the band’s lineup with
bassist John Fedowitz and drummer Sandra Fedowitz. The result is a group
that sounds more immediate\, daring\, and melodic than ever.\n\nRare and D
eadly\, out April 3\, cracks open a decade-long vault of raw nerve and son
ic chaos from A Place To Bury Strangers. Spanning 2015–2025\, the collec
tion gathers demos\, B-sides\, abandoned experiments\, and forgotten fragm
ents pulled from Ackermann’s personal archive of late-night recordings\,
blown-out tapes\, and half-finished sessions. These tracks capture the ba
nd at their most unfiltered—caught between breakthrough ideas and beauti
ful mistakes\, with the edges left jagged on purpose.\n\nEach format tells
  a different story. The CD\, cassette\, vinyl\, and digital editions all f
eature unique tracklists\, an almost unheard-of release strategy that give
a metaphorical middle finger to the industry norms.. No single format con
tains the “complete” album\; instead\, each becomes a different window
into the archive\, revealing alternate paths\, missing links\, and parall
el versions of the band’s inner life. The album shifts depending on how
you hear it\, mirroring the chaos of its\ncreation.\n\nAcross Rare and Dea
dly\, you can hear the evolution of Ackermann’s restless mind: riffs war
ped by malfunctioning pedals\, songs born from gear pushed beyond its limi
ts\, and melodies swallowed by walls of feedback until only their ghosts r
emain. Some tracks hint at future releases\; others are volatile dead ends
 . Together\, they form a secret history—an unstable\, essential document
  of sound in motion.\n\nLess a compilation than a documentary\, Rare and D
eadly captures the moment before ideas solidify. It’s where A Place To B
ury Strangers has always thrived: between control and collapse\, melody an
 d noise\, beauty and distortion.\n\nOut April 3\, 2026 — only on Dedstra
 nge.
