Join us for a night of classic cocktails and remarkable music
Join us for our second Online Night Out — this time featuring a cocktail demonstration from mixologist extraordinaire Paul Maloney from Stockade Tavern in Kingston, music from Klezmer virtuoso violinist Alicia Svigals and old time dance music from The Mapletones.
Your ticket includes: Recipe for two cocktails (with discount ingredients at Town & Country Liquors ), appetizer from Black Eyed Suzie’s in Saugerties ahead as well as the online cocktail demonstration and concert.
Paul Maloney is the owner and master mixologist at the Stockade Tavern in Kingston , called behind the bar. This bar brought “nothing short of a ccoktail revolution” to the Hudson Valley and Maloney will show you how. Tip: “You can’t be shy with the shaking,” says Maloney.
The Mapletones The Mapletones are an acoustic duo featuring Max Rainwater on fiddle and Nicole Ball on guitar. The band is based in Saugerties, New York. The Mapletones’ music brings dynamic harmony vocals, driving fiddling, and percussive Appalachian flatfoot dancing. The band is influenced by and performs everything from traditional old time music, Texas style ragtime, early blues and country, and folk songs you might recall from long ago.
Alicia Svigals , violinist/composer and a founder of the Grammy-winning Klezmatics, is the world’s foremost klezmer fiddler. Alicia almost singlehandedly revived the tradition of klezmer fiddling, which had been on the brink of extinction until she recorded her debut album Fidl in the 1990’s. In February 2018, Svigals and jazz pianist Uli Geissendoerfer released her newest album, Beregovski Suite, a fantasy on klezmer melodies culled from the archive of early 20th century Soviet Jewish ethnomusicologist Moshe Beregovski.
