Tubby’s and Conundrum Music Productions are pleased to announce a concert by Id M Theft Able, at Tubby’s on Wednesday, August 07. Matt Luczak and Spreaders will also present solo sets, and the show will open with Kevin Cheli and Tom Law, a drums/electronics duo
Known for his insubordinate and virtuosic improvisational approach to electroacoustic music, Id M Theft Able’s performances consist of stream-of-consciousness vocal technique, performative manipulations and gestures with collected objects, as well as the use of an amplified wire and wood sculpture that amasses echoes, shrieks, crashes, and creaks — assembling all manner of media sources. Id M Theft Able performs within and without the realms of noise, avant-improvisation, sound poetry, performance, etc. using voice, found objects, electronics, and whatever else is available. He has given hundreds of performances across four continents in various settings. Id M Theft Able hails from Maine.
Matt Luczak will perform a set with tape loops and mixer feedback. Spreaders is known for softerror/drenched electronics.
Ithaca-based drummer Kevin Cheli and local laptoppist Tom Law utilize drums, vibraphone, live sampling, and synthesis to create their electroacoustic improvisations.
The doors will open at 8pm, and a $5 donation would be appreciated. The music will commence at around 8:30pm. Further information can be obtained on the World Wide Web at conundrum.us or by using a telephone to dial (803) 250-1295.
