Date(s) - 06/10/2018
4:00 pm-6:00 pm

Woodstock Jewish Congregation

The award-winning chorus Ars Choralis will present Bernstein Remembered in Woodstock on Saturday, June 9th at Overlook Methodist Church (7:00 p.m.) and on Sunday, June 10 (4:00 p.m.) at The Woodstock Jewish Congregation. The chorus, under the direction of artistic director Barbara Pickhardt, will perform excerpts from a wide variety of the legendary composer’s secular music including musicals, operettas, song cycles, opera and his famous theatre piece, Mass. In addition to singing from his song-cycle I Hate Music, special guest, soprano Nicole Minielli, will perform songs rarely heard, such as the 1968 anti-war song So Pretty and Dream With Me, which was originally written for Bernstein’s musical, Peter Pan. From the famous West Side Story to the less familiar opera Trouble in Tahiti and 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, the concert will be imbued with the musical brilliance and humanitarianism of the beloved composer.

Adult tickets for the concert are $18 paid in advance and $22 at the door. Tickets for children 18 and under are half price. They can be obtained online at, from members of Ars Choralis and from the following locations: The Golden Notebook and Catskill Art & Office Supply in Woodstock, DIG in Saugerties and Mother Earth’s Storehouse in Kingston. Note that some of these retail outlets require payment in cash.
