Doers and Dreamers – DianaLou Wolff

Need to know how to figure out the Affordable Healthcare Act? This week’s Doer and Dreamer can help you do that, which I would need to do after taking one of her Zumba fitness classes at MAC Fitness. Say ‘Hello’ to this weeks Doer and Dreamer,   DianaLou Wolff.

Your name: DianaLou Wolff, FLMI/RHU/REBC

Business or organization: Benefit Counseling Associates

Occupation: Specialization in Employee Benefits

What is your approach to your business or occupation that makes you unique?
I don’t know that my approach is so unique. I treat my clients like they are family.  I try to get to know them and I recommend what is best for their particular situation which sometimes means lower or no commissions. However, I have never had to cold call clients because my business comes from referrals.

Where are you from originally?
I was born in Brooklyn, NY but came here when I was 3.

What brought you to the Kingston area and keeps you in this area?
My family moved to Kingston as my father was hired to be the manager of the J.B.Back Cigar factory that was formerly on Wilber Avenue.

I stay here because it is a beautiful area. The change in seasons is unlike any other in the nation.  It’s close enough to NYC for the rich culture yet far enough to have clean air and country like surroundings.

What is your favorite hangout in this area and why?
I tend to prefer the downtown waterfront area as the restaurants and shops are locally owned and it is rich in the history of Kingston. I also like to hangout at Dominicks Café uptown for breakfast because the food is good and I’m treated like family!

When you’re not in Kingston, what’s your idea of a wonderful city to visit, and why?
I like to visit the city for the rich culture, the plays, the museums and the shopping.

Tell us something that we never would have guessed about you.
I’m a little woman with a big laugh and personality, people who have never met me tend to be surprised by that.  People who know me claim that it’s part of my “charm”.
